It was a week well spent in the regions of Languedoc Roussillon and the Midi-Pyrenées!And work is much better. I'll be honest, it was difficult at first to find my place, especially in a foreign language! I felt alone and somewhat isolated since I had just finished studies in Paris where I had friends, my boyfriend, my independent life ! In addition, my supervisor, Brigitte, started vacation the next day after I started my internship, so nobody knew what I had to do for work, even when I asked, it was a bit crazy, a bit stressful. It was complicated to find the best way to communicate my goals because I wanted to help and participate in the office. I am now sure that this is such a great and eye-opening experience, especially since I am really living on my own, I feel as though I've grown immensely in my understanding of myself, my needs and wants, my interests, etc. It is true that these experiences are more than just a way to improve my French, it's a way to learn about all things, communication, culture, life, I am so grateful !
Now, the situation has changed for the better! A few weeks ago, I told my colleagues that I like to facilitate efficiency and ease of the workload for others, so this past week, I had lots of work to do (and this week too!). In fact, people I work with are always busy with a lot of things to do, and when my boss gives them other things such as itineraries or tasting sheets for customers or follow-ups (these are packets of promotional materials for new customers), I take them on because I have the time and I like being occupied! In addition, I'm writing articles in French and English for the blog (for upgrade) and the site on facebook. There were many people in the wine cave this week, I tasted wine for the people (and I tasted a little too, of course) and I sold many bottles! This week is mostly a continuation of the same work, with a visit to Limoux where are other domaines and the larger of the two for wine production and bottling (I am in montagnac, Limoux is close to Carcassone), and I have to keep updating press books for customers, to burn CDs and DVDs with movies of the business, prepare follow-ups,
This past weekend? I did "Via Ferrata" something between rock climbing and hiking, good thing I saved all the pics and details for after, so mom wouldn't have a coronary. It was very well spent! Jonathan came here for the weekend, we rented material for 15 euros a person, and traipsed off to Liaucous (near Millau and the Cevennes National Park) to do it. It was magnificent and the countryside was so beautiful. We have met someone very nice that you took pictures of us, so I'll attach them to my blog. After a morning well-exercised and a bit tiring, we ate in a small park with little waterfalls for a picnic with everything one needs: beer, cheese, a baguette, Nutella, bananas, perfect! We relaxed at the beach in the evening, Portiragnes again, it is perfect ! And for dinner, I prepared something very American for Jon, mashed potatoes with garlic and pork chops .. . mmm. It rained Sunday, so we did nothing except watch movies with pizza, not bad at all...
after "tyrolien," ziplining :)
This weekend it's cheese tasting in Roquefort with Papillon, and Roquefort as in THE ROQUEFORT, and more beach time ! Pictures as usual ! Two weekends from now, it's Toulon for Jonathan's birthday !
